Star Trek Theme Park To Be Constructed In Aqaba, Jordan

0

Construction of Star Trek Inspired Theme Park should start with the implementation early next year. $1.5 billion of funding has been secured for a major tourism and theme park development, which implies work on the 74-hectare Red Sea Astrarium project in Aqaba. This project, funded by investors from the US and the Gulf will include four hotels and 17 entertainment developments and will be situated in the Jordanian coastal city of Aqaba.

Star Trek Theme Park in Aqaba, Jordan will cost $1.5bn

Paramount Reaction and the Rubicon Group are partnering with architectural firm Callison to create the futuristic theme park. Development of the resort would generate employment for more than 500 skilled workers, according to Rubicon. Randa Ayoubi, the chief executive of Rubicon said: They have a group of investors. The main Jordanian investor is the King Abdullah Fund.

The Astrarium project will not be King Abdullah’s first voyage into the world of Star Trek. He is known to be a Trekkie, as fans of the long-running science-fiction show are known. He reportedly made a brief cameo on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager in 1995, when he was still a prince.

According to initial reports, the park will wow visitors with a 23rd century multi-sensory experience that will incorporate highly advanced visual and sound effects to give the people coming in the park a real-time feel of things. The technology which will go into building the Red Sea Astrarium Park will be unlike any other and they will be truly state of the art.

Mahattan Timelapse

Mindrelic's eyebrow raising timelapse compels lovers of New York, or the timelapse technique in video-making, to look at this magnificent piece of art.

I recently spent a little over a month hotel hopping in Manhattan (March 12th to April 29th) shooting time lapse. These clips were pulled from over an hours worth of footage.

Make sure you watch this in HD even if it take time to load. Definitely worth a look at:

2012 Land Rover Evoque

Land Rover is continuing The Pulse of The City Evoque Range Rover campaign with “Being Henry“, a new fully interactive film directed by Nick Gordon. The interactive experience provides the viewer with many choices, through the eyes of Henry, played by Leo Fitzpatrick of The Wire, providing 9 different shorelines and 32 unique endings. The variety of choices and consequences that occur ultimately result in the creation of the consumer’s subconsciously chosen Range Rover Evoque. Check out the easter-egg function in the Snooze button in the first scene.

The Being Henry campaign was developed at The Brooklyn Brothers, London.
